Whether you were there in person, or you read about it on social media, the 2018 Mid-America Restaurant Expo (#MAREXPO), hosted by the Ohio Restaurant Association and held on January 28-29 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, was hailed as a huge success.
In its second year, the Expo attracted more than 4,000 experts and 300 exhibitors and operators from throughout the Midwest to discuss the latest trends and topics driving the restaurant industry. Centered on collaborative education, more than 50 educational seminars were offered on and off the show floor with dynamic presenters from across the country and industry. The Expo exhibit hall showcased the newest equipment and tools created specifically for restaurants, in addition to the most innovative food and beverage products available, and hosted the well-known “Best of the Midwest” Pizza Pizzazz and inaugural Burger Battle competitions.
To top off the excitement, the keynote speech was by delivered celebrity chef and co-host of ABC’s “The Chew” Michael Symon, which included a live culinary demonstration in a massive kitchen on the show floor.
Next year’s Mid-America Restaurant Expo will be on January 13-14, 2019, so be sure to mark your calendars to attend the restaurant and foodservice industry trade show of the Midwest focusing on innovation, technology and trends. See you there!
