Who is Michael Symon

Originally from Cleveland, Symon currently operates numerous restaurants in the area, including Lola, Bar Symon and Roast, just to name a few. He’s also a fixture on the Food Network and ABC's The Chew. In addition to his success as a chef and TV personality, Symon published four cookbooks, showcasing his Greek and Sicilian heritage, coupled with a modern American flair. With an exuberant personality, he’s known for his infectious laugh as much as he is for cooking.

What He’s Accomplished 

In 2009, Symon's restaurant Lola earned him a James Beard award, one of the food industry's highest honors. He was awarded the title of Best Chef for the Great Lakes region, after being a nominee in the category for two previous years. He also received a nomination in 2005 for Best National Television Cooking Show for his collaboration with Bobby Flay, Hot and Spicy Fiesta with Bon Appetit. He’s been competing as an "Iron Chef" on the Food Network for many years, so there’s a lot to learn from Symon's extensive background and portfolio.
