Allison Kave

Co-founder, Butter & Scotch

Allison Kave is a baker, bartender, recipe developer, teacher, writer, speaker, and co-founder of Butter & Scotch: a bar and bakery in Brooklyn, New York.

Butter & Scotch opened in 2015 and quickly became known for creative riffs on classic American desserts and craft cocktails, as well as its support of feminist and queer causes (they donate $1 from every cocktail on their menu to Planned Parenthood, and their welcoming, inclusive space has become a venue for grassroots fundraising and organizing within the Crown Heights community).

Kave is the author of First Prize Pies and co-author of the Butter & Scotch cookbook, and her recipes and creations have been featured in a wide range of publications, including The New York Times Magazine, Bake From Scratch, Serious Eats, New York Magazine, and on shows on the Food Network and The Cooking Channel.
